HISTORY

ABOUT US - SKYBALL (HELSEL)

Established in 2006, Helsel has been constantly evolving to become South Korea’s largest company in drone R&D, manufacturing and distribution.

In 2015, Helsel was the first to pioneer the idea of drone soccer and in 2017 this new drone sport was launched in South Korea, quickly expanding internationally and joining drone racing to become the newly rising drone sports of the upcoming 4th industrial revolution.

SKYBALL (Helsel) is currently expanding the drone sports industry beyond South Korea, by endlessly developing and manufacturing new sports drones and related accessories. Among the Helsel drone soccer product line-up, the Striker drone (40cm) and the Tike (20cm) have been officially used in international events by the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale/World Air Sports Federation).

With the fusion of the latest drone technology and advanced materials, Helsel is striving to pioneer new drones easily accessible to anyone.

As the importance of sustainable regional development is increasingly recognised, a number of regional events are being organized. Regional events are more than just festivals, they are a place for youth to connect and lay the groundwork for the future of the region's industries. There is a growing number of educational and experiential events being organized by local governments, and local events using drones are also on the rise.

HELSEL's Drone Soccer SKYBALL introduced at JAPAN DRONE 2024

JAPAN DRONE 2024, Japan's largest drone expo, was held from June 5-7, 2024 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.The event was attended by many companies, including SONY, one of Japan's largest companies, and SEKIDO, a DJI drone dealer in Japan.

HELSEL, which exports SKYBALL to 20 countries around the world, participated in the fair to expand into the Japanese market.

HELSEL's Korean Drone Soccer Ball Introduces At Hungarian Drone Soccer Event

The Hungarian event was a great success and will be promoted at an upcoming event in May, which is expected to attract around 10,000 people. The Hungarian Univesity of Győr was very pleased with HELSEL's Skyball series such as BALKIN and TIKE, which were used in the event, and will also be promoted at the May event.

The German team that played against the Korean team was also very interested in the BALKIN, so they will be introducing it to German drone soccer fans at an upcoming event in Dortmund.

Asia's largest drone exhibition "2024 Drone Show Korea"

It was held from March 6 to March 8, 2024 in BEXCO, Busan, South Korea.

Helsel, the maker of Skyball, has been participating in Drone Show Korea since the first edition with various concepts every year.

At the 2024 Drone Show Korea, Helsel's booth was showcased with a drone soccer and drone sports concept with Skyball.

A variety of sports drones were on display that meet the FAI's (The World Air Sports Federation) three drone soccer CLASS regulations

Why U.S. Students Started Drone Soccer

Drone soccer is a sport that originated in South Korea and is now growing in the United States with tremendous potential.

Drone soccer competitions are thriving in the U.S., with SUNY Poly (a public university in Utica, New York) hosting the inaugural U.S. Drone Soccer National Championship. Sixteen student teams, selected from regional competitions, competed for national honors, international tournaments, and exhibition tickets.

Moreover, schools like Howard Middle School (Howard County Public School System, HCPSS) in Maryland and Desert Hot Springs Middle School have organized drone soccer matches, demonstrating a growing interest in drone soccer across various educational institutions in the U.S.
